Mission & Vision
What Sets Us Apart
At Family Paths, we strengthen families and prevent child abuse by providing compassionate mental health services, crisis support, and parenting resources across Alameda County. Since 1972, we’ve been committed to breaking cycles of trauma through culturally responsive care—honoring the diverse backgrounds of the families we serve and the staff who empower them.
We believe every family deserves healing and resilience, regardless of circumstance. By fostering a workplace rooted in equity, collaboration, and professional growth, we equip our team to create lasting change—one child, one parent, and one community at a time.

Health & Wellbeing
We prioritize your physical and mental wellness with fully paid medical and dental insurance for full-time employees, plus flexible work schedules to support work-life balance. Our annual staff appreciation events and holiday party foster connection and joy, while paid time off from December 26–December 31 ensures restorative time with loved ones.
Time Off & Flexibility
Recharge with 20 days of PTO (increasing with tenure), 7 paid holidays, and 2 float holidays each year. Flexible schedules accommodate your needs while maintaining our commitment to families. We have offices in Oakland and Hayward, and have both remote and hybrid work opportunities available.
Growth & Development
Invest in your future with annual financial support for professional development, internal growth opportunities, and 5 days of paid Educational Leave. Clinicians thrive with free CEUs, specialized supervision, and salary increases upon licensure. Bilingual staff earn a 5% pay differential in qualifying roles.
Clinician Support
Our clinical team receives robust training from field experts, dedicated individual supervision, and pathways to specialize in Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH). Significant onboarding support and licensure-based raises ensure you’re set up for success from day one. We even offer supervision in Spanish!

DEI and inclusivity
The Family Paths Advisory Council (FPAC) aims to create, nurture and sustain an inclusive culture, and advises the agency on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Trauma Informed Practice, in support of celebrating, valuing, and enhancing a culture of belonging that we strive for in the workplace and community.
FPAC engages all staff in the process of moving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives forward with a Trauma Informed lens and advises on policies and practices that support equity and belonging for all employees.
