Family Paths Welcomes New Executive Director, Shareen Leland, M.S., LMFT

The Family Paths Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Shareen Leland, M.S., LMFT, as our new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2026.
Shareen brings more than 30 years of dedicated experience in behavioral health, including extensive leadership in clinical operations, program development, and community-based care. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she holds an M.S. in Counseling from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in Human Development from Cal State East Bay.
Throughout her impactful career, Shareen has led Bay Area nonprofit organizations focused on mental health, family services, and substance use treatment. She has a proven track record of overseeing large portfolios of county-funded programs, building collaborative partnerships with community agencies and foundations, and advancing trauma-informed, equity-driven care models.
She is recognized for her empathy, transparency, and integrity, as well as her ability to guide teams through periods of growth and change while maintaining an unwavering focus on mission and community impact. Her leadership approach—collaborative, heart-centered, and deeply client-focused—aligns closely with Family Paths’ commitment to strengthening families and promoting mental health for all.
